Taffeta, Blue, Brrrr and Goodnight

My dresss is taffeta sky... I love how the colors took!
The dress is an old wedding dress I got for $10 at the thrift store, it was long, tackey and I loved it.  This makes it the perfect canvas! It's easier to come up with flowing idea without the pressure of costly materials....
So far I've jaggedly cut off the stained bottom soaked it in a bath of blue dye, rinsed thoroughly, the, in a bath of purple...  I bunched up the fabric first creating the organic, mottled effect and the sequins and beads did not take any dye while the lace took extra....
There's a bit more work to be done then to wear this crazy bit I've got the awesomest shoes picked out.
Projects are going well, wish organizing was too.....

Btw I finally watch an episode of Twin Peaks... It was good, not sure I agree with the hype, it's on netflix live stream so I'll likely periodically binge watch through and see what all the oo-ing was in the 90s...

It's cold out and I'm tired
Off to be warm and sleep

Sketchbook with a Beer Box Cover

I was neatening up warren's apartment and came accross an angry orchard 6 pack box... The art was too cool to throw into the recycling pile. Inspired by rent gifts from my friend Cindy (@) I grabbed some
construction paper, scissors, tape, needle, thread and whipped this up.... I really like it.... wanna know how I made it?
I think I am going to use it to keep a tree log/diary....
ps.... more to come.

My necklace was remade and blogged and other stuff.

Oh it has been far too long since my last post.... I wonder how common that start is for a blog?
I was gung ho on the alphabet book I was drawing when I injured my finger and it is not healing as I was assured and hoped it would and I got a bit despondent.
Getting back into creating of any kind feel like going home and have been working bunches again, tho rarely as much as I believe I 'should' whatever that means.
Lately Ive been mostly sketching as my hand builds back up and getting back into cartooning the more
I research my Papa's art.   Also have been itching to get back into beading and diy then I stumble upon a blog by Claire Wolfe where she made my memory necklace.  She did an amazing job and I love how she went with my design and still made it her own.... I've never actually seen my pieces remade by someone else... I love the peace and the inspiration it returned to me.
I wrote up a tentative schedule and will aim at regular posts on all my social networking sights that trick me into thinking I'm actually social :)    Lately most of my art has been going on facebook tho I do miss posting animations.....
So now I need to find more time to satisfy the quest to fulfill all my creative loves in a.d.d. ferver.
It's cold, Im going to go work on a quilt, eat popcorn and make hot chocolate.

Cheers

ps ..... I tried to post this several times over the last couple of weeks and all I got was error messages is anyone else having that issue?

Doodled Letters to Color

Hey and Happy Morning to you...
tho just because I am writing this in the morning time does not mean you will be reading it in the morning time.... so happy time to you!
The doodles, tangles and happy lines took on a life of their own with in my pen and started doing my kid's initials, I'm pretty please with how they are coming out.  In the posting of them on my Shades of Peace facebook page I asked what started with those letters, so far I have posted R, D, and C....as I was working on 'J' I realized I want to fill the letters with words that start with the letter I am drawing and do the whole alphabet..
Here is an incomplete list of what starts with the letter....
I would love it if y'all would help fill this in, please add your favorite words you would like to see doodled in a letter...
At first I decided I would go in alphbetical order, posting one letter a day.  This approach in not a good plan if I want to finish the project that I think will make a fun coloring book.
(Finally) I have learned to go with my wiring...
anyone who knows me likely notices I bounce around with "A.D.D" as my choreographer;l rather than swallow chemicals to change how work I have learned to go with it...allot gets done on various projects by setting myself up with different bits to work on so as I bounce from one thing I have another go to and the productivity is much higher.  To an outside observer my studio resembles scrambled eggs, maybe why I dont have many in the studio - comments the space and ongoing projects can shift the rhythm for me and makes the flow harder to get back to...

Learning to go with that has allowed me to have creations fall out that make me so excited I get to be an artist.
Sooo in keeping with my seemingly unorganized Chelle rhythm I will do the letters in an inside out order -
please post here or on my Shades of Peace face book page any words you would like to see doodled for that letter when they come to you/as you feel like it.... its hard tellin which letter will come next, even I dont know.

Dangling zenly from doodles

While searching online for books full of drawing techniques at 3a I came across a series of books by different artists on doodle techniques known as zentangling http://zentangle.blogspot.com The technique consists of creating drawn shapes that are segmented as shown here on wikihow; http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Zentangle with patterns how tos here http://tanglepatterns.com/tag/zentangle ..... with the technique the spaces within the segments are filled in with random repeating pattern.  There are some really cool patterns and drawings that I found and I am psyched for the inspiration.   From what I have read there are 147 patterns, some posted on the website but not all because she leads workshops that teach the other patterns and I found postings from 'certified zentangle instructors'.  The techniques are fun, designs are way cool and I was psyched at how much purusing the doodles/zentangles got me drawing with free er lines again..

It brought  me back to when I was  younger and would doodle on any and all available surfaces, - stationary wasnt always necesary, still isnt.

Now there are workshops, booklets, YouTube videos, blogs etc on how to zentangle/doodle.

It's quite awesome that doodling is now a thing that people want to search out to do..... I used to to get in trouble for doodling on the covers of my notebooks and now there are classes to show us how.

The concept of teaching doodling is cool and if it gets somebody freethinking and that doing like a child that was fantastic, at the end of the day just be free, like when you were a kid and not worried if you could your draw or not, you  just drew,  and the coolest stuff came out!  So, please, do more of that now.

I think a book to refer to when I'm feeling stuck and forget to doodle..... book or no book, please doodle, the world needs more of what comes from a us when our internal editor isnt too loud.... and when you do, please show me what you drew in comment below or on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ColornTell ..... I love to see what you did.... The one I did and posted here is inspired by Sprout Brook, one of my favorite places to take my girls and doodle.

PS ... more to come
