New Story Etc

The other day* (There is tomorrow, today, yesterday, and the other day....) I went to Neil Gaiman's signing of his new book, 'Ocean at the End of the Lane' at BAM in Brooklyn with my friend Jim and met up with Peter...
Peter reminds me of Tom Waits character in Dracula, Renfield, he was one of my favorite characters.  The jury is still out as to how Peter feels about that comparison, Tom too.  Most people remind me of a combination of other people......along with that everyone seems to have a double or more wandering about on somewhat related planes.
During Neil's talk he spoke of writing novels and that you write what you know woven with lies.  That reminded me of how my mind dove into stories based on the bits around me I found interesting, it also reminded me of the 500 Hats of Bartholomew Winslow by Dr. Suess, and a door that was along the railroad tracks I used to walk at least once a day.....  during being reminded a story started to form in my head and this time I gave my permission to write it down... Here is the into bit:

So Far Untitled by Chelle Mayer  Bit One

The door closed and the world was gone, all that was left of the smell and light from where we just cam was evaporating as was any sense of realness associated to what happened.  We stood hungry, bewildered and disconnected on the tracks.  Sadie looked like she wanted to bark but stood frozen in place seemingly hesitant to move as tho if she did this world would evaporate too, I was afraid it wouldn't....

So that's what I have for you today..... My fingers are crossed that my enthusiasm for this story over rides that I have the attention span of an epileptic humming bird.

Yours, Chelle
